Warriorette Tryout Information
Mandatory Parent Information Meeting-
Wednesday, March 21st at 6:30 pm in WHS Library
Registration-

• Grade and Citizenship Transcript (9th grade to 2nd term of present year) Make sure your GPA is 3.0 or higher with no N’s, U’s or F’s.
• 2 Academic Teacher Evaluations (make sure you give the right form for ACADEMIC)
• 1 Dance Teacher Evaluation (make sure you give the right form for DANCE)
• 4×6 or 5×7 picture (copy of picture is fine)
Clinics-
Monday and Tuesday April 9th and 10th from 3:00 – 6:00
• Come to each clinic on time, dressed in appropriate dancewear with dance shoes (gore boots or foot undies), hair pulled completely off your face, and bring a water bottle and snack.
• Clinics and tryouts are closed. Dancers may video the routine and combinations at 6:00 on the first day of clinics.
• This year’s senior will teach a short jazz routine, turn combination, leap combination, and military/kick combination that will be performed at tryouts.
• You will be watched throughout the clinics for ability, attitude, and willingness to try new things. Notes taken will be given to the judges to be referred to during tryouts.
• During clinics, participants may be pulled out for a personal interview administered by the coaches.
Tryouts- Wednesday, April 11th at 3:00 pm
• Tryouts will begin promptly at 3:00 pm. Doors will open at 2:35 for girls to pick up their tryout number, stretch, and practice. You must be at the school no later than 2:45 pm or you will not be allowed to try out.
• Participants must wear black tight clothing with dance shoes and hair pulled back. You will also need a water bottle and healthy snacks.
• We don’t have an exact finish time for tryouts but anticipate they will be done around 6:00pm. Seniors will hand out letters to participants that will be opened outside of the gym. If you make the 2018-2019 Warriorette Drill Team, you will be invited back into the gym for a short meeting.
Requirements of a Weber High Warriorette-
• Maintain a 3.0 GPA. No F’s, N’s, or U’s.
• Attendance credit loss cannot be deficient by more than .75 credits.
• Candidate must have completed any school District or Boundary waivers PRIOR to tryouts.
• Candidates must attend school during the week of and day of tryouts.
• Remainder of 2017-2018 School Year: technique/conditioning/tumbling classes, possible competition hip-hop routine and/or pom routine.
• Summer Schedule: 6:30 – 10:00am practices, drill camp, Founders Day Parade end of June, 4th of July Parade (most of July is off for moratorium), possible Saturday practices.
• School Year Schedule: A-Day and B-Day practices 1:00 – 4:00pm 4th and 8th period, Saturday practices, no school days practices, football and basketball games, and competitions.
• Cost: $900.00 (Camp, Summer Fees, practice clothes, choreography/music, competition fees, etc…) Summer Activity Fee: $50.00
Summer Camp/Retreat: $250.00 (variable depending on workshop)
Drill Team Costs: $600.00 (1st Semester)
